Welcome to the Third Trimester!

It is official, Day 100! The goats have just entered their third trimester of pregnancy!

Well, it was a cold day today with a high of about 10. The ladies decided to spend most of the day relaxing inside. I can’t blame them as I stayed out of the wind most of the day too. It has been 100 days since the bucks were introduced to the ladies and we expect in about 50 days to see our first kids.

Right now, the ladies are eating like crazy and loving the extra protein and vitamins that we supplement. At this time in the pregnancy, the kids are nearly full size. They have grown into little doelings and bucklings but we won’t get to see them for a few days yet. They have just started growing hair on their face and will continue to grow lots of hair in the next 50 days. They will need it as March may be nicer but can still be below freezing. Now is the guessing game, who is pregnant and how many kids will she have? Stay tuned for the tail count starting mid March.
